Lakeside Salsa Night — August 27: A Summer Send-Off by the Water

Lakeside Salsa

Closing out the season, the final Lakeside Salsa party of the summer takes place on August 27th in City Park, once again set on the striking floating stage over the Boating Lake beside Vajdahunyad Castle. As late-August evenings begin carrying the first hints of autumn, this last edition offers a fitting farewell to the summer’s Latin dance series, combining warm nostalgia with the same high-energy party the series is known for.

The evening follows the familiar, well-loved structure. Gates open at 19:30, followed by a beginner salsa class from 20:00 to 21:00, taught by professional instructors and open to absolute newcomers as well as returning dancers looking to refine their steps. From 21:00 onward, resident DJ Dee takes the decks, spinning a lively mix of salsa, Cuban salsa, bachata, and merengue, along with guided dance animations that make it easy for everyone, regardless of experience, to join the fun. The party continues until 1:00 AM, giving guests a full night of dancing under the late-summer sky.

For tourists visiting Budapest in late August, this event offers a memorable way to spend an evening: dancing barefoot in spirit beside a lake, with a fairy-tale castle glowing nearby. The venue is located at the City Park Ice Rink and Boating Lake promenade, with entrance through the Ice Rink’s main gate, and information available in both Hungarian and English. Regular tickets apply, and given its central park location, it pairs perfectly with an earlier evening exploring City Park’s other attractions before the music starts.
