Experience the Thrill of Urban Sports at Budapest’s Olympic Qualifier Series
This June 20-23, Budapest will host the Olympic Qualifier Series, an exciting new multi-sport event where the world’s best athletes in urban sports like BMX freestyle, skateboarding, sport climbing, and breaking compete for a spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Olympic Qualifier Series is part of the Olympic Agenda 2020+5 reform program, bringing these dynamic urban disciplines into a festival-like setting in an urban park environment. More than just sporting events, it offers a full experience combining the sports with art, music, and culture.
Held at the Ludovika Campus, the Budapest stop promises high-octane action as 464 athletes go all-out across both park and street skateboarding, BMX freestyle park, breaking, bouldering, lead climbing, and speed climbing. Over 150 athletes will qualify for Paris based on their performances here and in the previous Shanghai event in May.
But it’s not just about the sports! The Olympic Qualifier Series will run alongside the free Urban Festival, featuring live music acts like Animal Cannibals, Hősök, Deniz, MC Kemon and more. Visitors can also catch exhibitions by world champions, try urban sports like parkour and bike trials, and meet Hungarian Olympians on Olympic Day (June 23).
Don’t miss this unique chance to witness the best in urban sports while soaking up an urban cultural festival atmosphere! Mark your calendars for the Olympic Qualifier Series in Budapest from June 20-23.
