Dance Beneath the Turrets: DNB Castle Returns to Vajdahunyad Castle

DNB Castle

Imagine the pounding bass of drum and bass music echoing off centuries-old stone walls, the summer night sky stretching above a medieval courtyard, and hundreds of people losing themselves in the rhythm of one of Budapest’s most unique open-air events. That’s exactly what’s on offer on 27 June 2026, when DNB Castle takes over the iconic Vajdahunyad Castle in the heart of Budapest’s City Park. Organized by the crew behind NITEFLEXX, this isn’t a sweaty basement club night — it’s a full-blown castle takeover.

Where History Meets Bass

Vajdahunyad Castle is no ordinary event venue. Built at the turn of the 20th century for Hungary’s millennium celebrations, this architectural marvel blends Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque styles into one fairy-tale complex nestled inside Városliget (City Park), just a short walk from Heroes’ Square. During the day, it draws tourists from around the world. On the night of June 27th, it transforms into something else entirely.

The event takes place in the castle’s courtyard at Anonymus Bar & More, a bar named after the mysterious medieval chronicler whose hooded statue stands just outside. It’s the kind of place where atmosphere comes built-in — and DNB Castle leans into that fully.

The Lineup

The musical journey spans the full spectrum of drum and bass — from the warm, melodic textures of liquid and deep DnB, to the raw, organic energy of jungle, all the way to the harder edges of dancefloor and neuro. Whether you’re a long-time head or just curious about the genre, there’s something here for you.

Headlining the night is LUDMILLA, joined by R.O.NBASSTETOLIV:RADENINER.OWNSPANCSAPOSPELSOMATIC, and KITSUNE GVNG, with the night expertly hosted by MC Fedora. It’s a diverse roster that promises both depth and dancefloor power from early evening right through until the early hours of Sunday morning.

Tickets and Pricing

Here’s a tip worth noting: the first 25 arrivals before 19:00 get in for free. After that, entry is time-slotted based on capacity. Tickets priced at 3,000 HUF cover entry from 19:00–22:00, 3,500 HUF from 22:00–midnight, and 4,000 HUF after midnight. Advance tickets are also available and strongly recommended — the venue holds a maximum of 250 people at a time, so this one will fill up fast.

Your wristband only gets you in once, so plan your evening accordingly. From 10 PM onward, the event is strictly 18+.

Getting There

Vajdahunyad Castle sits inside City Park in Budapest’s 14th district, at Kós Károly sétány 1. It’s easily reachable by metro on the M1 (yellow) line to Széchenyi fürdő or Hősök tere, and is also accessible by bus or on foot from the city center. Once at the castle’s main entrance, turn left and follow the castle wall — Anonymus Bar & More is tucked right into the courtyard.

Good to Know

The event is family- and pet-friendly during the early evening hours, making it a lovely way to enjoy the castle atmosphere before the night deepens. Food and drinks are available exclusively from Anonymus Bar on-site, and the organizers kindly ask that you leave outside food and beverages at home to help support the event. In case of bad weather, the event will be rescheduled — follow the organizers’ social media for updates.
