Budapest Pride Festival
The Budapest Pride Parade is set to unfold once more on June 22, 2024. Themed “Take back the future,” the parade aims to shed light on a spectrum of systemic societal issues—ranging from racism and the housing crisis to ecological challenges, dwindling faith in democracy, homophobia, transphobia, and sexism. These issues, though diverse, share common roots and tend to reinforce one another, underscoring the urgent need for solutions. This year marks the 29th iteration of the Budapest Pride Community Festival.
This years the starting point of the parade is going to be Podmaniczky street and the participants will head through Bajcsy-Zsilinszky way to Andrássy way and continue their journey all the way to the Heroes’ Square. During the parade visitors may expect to run into temporary closures in the surrounding streets.
The parade will culminate on June 22 with the Rainbow Party at Budapest Park, where attendees can freely dance with anyone they choose. Come celebrate an evening of freedom, love, and community spirit at Hungary’s largest LMBTQ gathering, where everyone can openly express themselves without fear. Don your vibrant accessories and help us paint Budapest Park in every color of the rainbow!
