Lumina Park Ligths Up Once More In Budapest

Get ready to be enchanted by the hottest seasonal winter attraction in Budapest – Lumina Park! This mesmerizing light festival has been a beloved favorite among locals for years, and it’s no surprise why. This year, from mid-October, Lumina Park is transforming the Palatinus beach area on Margaret Island into a captivating Fairy Tale Film Festival.

Imagine stepping into a world where illustrious fairy tale characters, heroes, and their stories come to life through stunning light installations. You’ll have the chance to explore Captain Nemo’s awe-inspiring underwater world and his fantastic Nautilus submarine. Encounter Robin Hood, the prince of thieves, and his companions from Sherwood Forest. Even King Arthur will make an appearance with his magical sword, alongside Merlin the wizard and the Knights of the Round Table.

But that’s not all! You’ll also come face to face with King Kong and, of course, the beloved Disney characters that have captured the hearts of generations. Immerse yourself in the world of cult films like “The Grinch” and “Jurassic Park,” where you can marvel at the dinosaurs. Step into the enchanting realm of Narnia and even imagine yourself as a character from “2001: A Space Odyssey,” discovering distant planets.

The Lumina Park Fairy Tale Film Festival is a 1-1.5 hour walk that will take you on a journey through these iconic tales, accompanied by the famous and cherished music from the films and books. The light park will be open every day from dusk until 9 pm, starting from October 18, 2024, until March 2, 2025 (tentatively).

In previous years, Lumina Park has wowed visitors with its “Around the World” theme in 2022 and two separate themes in 2023 – “Journey Through Time” at the Palatinus beach, celebrating Budapest’s 150th birthday, and the Lumina Christmas Park at the Roman Beach Bath.
