Lumina Park Budapest 2026: Follow Alice Into Wonderland

A White Rabbit, a Mad Hatter and a Queen of Hearts are coming to Margaret Island. Lumina Park returns to the Palatinus Baths on 20 October 2026 with a new Alice in Wonderland theme, transforming its grounds into a glowing storybook world for autumn and winter evenings.
This year’s route features more than 200 light installations spread over 1.5 kilometres. Instead of simply viewing the display from one spot, you can walk through it, following Alice’s story from one illuminated scene to the next. If you’re visiting Budapest and looking for something to do after sunset, Wonderland offers a change of scene from the city centre.

What Awaits in Wonderland?
This is Lumina Park’s sixth season at the Palatinus Baths, but the theme is entirely new. The light trail takes its inspiration from Alice’s adventures, so keep an eye out for the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts as you make your way along the path. With more than 200 installations to discover, there’s no need to rush to the next scene.
Best deals of Budapest
The park’s 1.5-kilometre route gives the evening a leisurely rhythm. Allow at least two hours if you want to take in the displays and photograph your favourite characters. It’s an outing that can work equally well as a family activity or a colourful addition to a Budapest city break.
Make an Evening of It
Lumina Park is on Margaret Island, between the two banks of the Danube. If you’re staying near Nyugati Railway Station, bus 26 offers a direct way to reach the island; you can also board it at Göncz Árpád City Centre. Drivers can park near the island’s northern tip and continue to the Palatinus Baths on foot or by bus.
Opening times follow the changing winter evenings. The park opens at 5:30 pm during its first five days, while many later dates begin at 4:30 pm. Selected dates around Christmas and New Year run until 10 pm, giving you a little longer to explore.
Lumina Park is generally closed on Mondays, except for 28 December and 4 January, and will also be closed on 1 November and 24 December. Check the hours for the day you plan to go, and remember that tickets bought online or at the venue are valid only for the selected date.
