BudapestGO Pass Holders Can Now Enjoy 10 Free MOL Bubi Rides a Month

BudapestGO and MOL Bubi

Budapest is a city that rewards a change of pace. One minute you’re on a tram; the next, you could be cycling towards your next stop on one of the city’s green MOL Bubi bikes. A new benefit makes that combination especially appealing for visitors with a longer-stay public transport pass: eligible BudapestGO pass holders can now enjoy 10 free MOL Bubi rides each month, with up to 30 minutes included per ride.

The offer began on 28 September 2026 and applies to Budapest passes valid for at least 30 days that were purchased in the BudapestGO app. It covers classic MOL Bubi bikes, giving you another way to make short trips around the city without buying a separate bike-sharing pass.

Who Can Use the Offer?

If you have an eligible monthly, quarterly or annual Budapest pass in BudapestGO, you can claim a set of 10 MOL Bubi coupons. Each coupon lets you use one classic bike for a single ride of up to 30 minutes at no charge. A shorter ticket, or a pass bought outside the BudapestGO app, does not meet the stated conditions for this promotion.

This is particularly useful if you’re spending several weeks in Budapest. Your pass remains your ticket for public transport, while the bike coupons give you the option to cycle when that suits your plans better. You might take the metro for the longer part of a journey and use a MOL Bubi bike for the final stretch, or choose to ride between two nearby places rather than waiting for a connection.

How to Get Your MOL Bubi Coupons

The free rides do not appear automatically when you buy a pass. First, register your eligible BudapestGO pass through BKK’s MOL Bubi promotion page. Once you have registered, the coupons are sent to you by email.

If you buy a new monthly pass, you need to claim the coupons again for that pass. Quarterly pass holders receive a set each month for three consecutive months after registering, while annual pass holders receive monthly sets for twelve months. Keep an eye on the dates in your email: coupons are valid for 30 days, rather than accumulating indefinitely for a future visit.

What to Know Before You Ride

Each coupon is for one classic MOL Bubi bike, and you can redeem only one coupon at a time. Your 30 free minutes begin when you successfully unlock the bike—not when you start moving. If you return it after 20 minutes, for example, the remaining 10 minutes do not carry over to another ride.

It is worth watching the clock if you’re tempted to make an extra stop. Once a continuous ride passes the 30-minute mark, additional use costs HUF 60 per minute. The coupons apply to classic bikes, not electric-assist models, so check which type of bike you’ve selected before unlocking it. At the end of your journey, return the bike to a designated MOL Bubi location and check the app to make sure the rental has ended successfully.

More Places to Pick Up a Bike

The new benefit arrives as the MOL Bubi network grows. In mid-September, more than 400 Mobi points became available to bike-sharing users, bringing the number of pick-up and return locations to nearly 700. In some parts of the city, the denser network means you may find a location roughly every 100–150 metres, making it easier to fit a short ride into a day of sightseeing.

BKK plans to add more locations over the coming months and expects the network to have more than 1,100 pick-up and return points by early 2027. For now, the simplest approach is to check the MOL Bubi app before setting off: you can see where a bike is available and choose a suitable place to finish your ride. Whether you cycle the whole way or combine a bike with Budapest’s public transport, the new coupons give eligible pass holders a little more freedom to explore at their own pace.
