Budapest Ranks Fourth in the Race for the Best Capital City for Theme Parks
Budapest has secured an impressive fourth place in a recent ranking of the best European capital cities for theme parks and amusement parks. The list, compiled by the British company Ubuy, was based on traveler ratings and took into account the number and quality of public parks, theme parks, amusement parks, and beach and thermal baths in each city.
Despite missing out on a podium finish by just one point, Budapest’s performance is commendable considering the size and entertainment value of the cities it was up against. The Hungarian capital boasts 43 parks and 17 thermal and beach baths, which received high ratings compared to London’s 190 parks. Ubuy specifically highlighted the Széchenyi Thermal Bath and Swimming Pool, as well as the Palatinus Beach.
London topped the list with 75 out of a possible 80 points, closely followed by Prague with 73 points. Rome secured third place with 67 points. Budapest managed to outrank Berlin and Stockholm, with Paris trailing behind. Although the French capital has 182 parks, including Disneyland, it appears that amusement and theme park enthusiasts can find better options based on the ratings.
This ranking showcases Budapest’s appeal as a destination for both relaxation and entertainment, with its numerous parks, thermal baths, and amusement facilities catering to visitors of all ages. As travelers continue to seek out unique experiences beyond the usual tourist attractions, Budapest’s fourth-place finish highlights its potential as a top destination for those seeking a balance between leisure and excitement.
