Salsa Under the Stars in Budapest’s City Park

If you’re visiting Budapest this summer and love Latin music and dancing, you won’t want to miss Salsa in the Park! This outdoor concert series brings the hot rhythms of salsa, bachata, cumbia and more to the open-air stage at the Hungarian House of Music in the city’s beautiful City Park.

The headlining band for 2024 is Son Tres, a red-hot salsa group based in Budapest with members from Venezuela, Cuba and Colombia. Led by Venezuelan singer and bandleader Guillermo Macsotay, Son Tres fuses the passionate vibes of South America with virtuosic musicianship honed at top conservatories in the US and Hungary.

The band’s all-star lineup features Cuban percussionist Ángel Miguel León Cruz, a veteran of the acclaimed Havana Son Club, and Colombian bassist and composer Aldober Acevedo, who has toured the world with legendary acts like Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz. Rounding out the quartet is Hungarian piano wizard Zsolt Koloncsák.

Salsa in the Park takes place on Saturday, July 28th at 5pm in the City Park’s scenic outdoor venue. The show is expected to sell out, so tourists are advised to purchase tickets well in advance through authorized resellers to guarantee entry.
