Historic Renovation Begins

Ruby Hotels is set to breathe new life into Budapest’s iconic Corvin Palace, a building with nearly 100 years of history. The renovation project, scheduled to begin in late 2025, will transform the historic structure into a modern hotel and cultural destination.

Innovative Hotel Concept

The hotel will occupy four floors of the Corvin Palace, featuring 181 stylish rooms that blend contemporary design with the building’s historical character. The fifth floor will house communal spaces, including a bar and lounge with panoramic views of Budapest, including the Liberty Statue on Gellért Hill.

More Than Just a Hotel

In an exciting addition to the project, the Corvin Palace will also welcome the Time Out Market Budapest, creating a vibrant food court that will complement the hotel’s offerings. This culinary destination will provide guests and locals with a diverse dining experience within the historic building.

A Vision of Lean Luxury

Elena Günther-Jakobs, Vice President of Development for the region, highlighted the project’s potential, emphasizing Ruby Hotels’ “Lean Luxury” concept. This approach promises stylish, high-quality, yet affordable accommodation that caters to modern travelers.

Preserving Historical Essence

The hotel’s design, led by Matthew Balon, aims to preserve the Corvin Palace’s historical character while introducing contemporary elements. The project is a collaboration with local entrepreneurs, the Balogh family, who are known for their innovative approach to renovation.

Opening and Future Prospects

The hotel is expected to open by the end of 2026, marking a significant milestone in the Corvin Palace’s nearly 100-year history. This development not only revitalizes a historic building but also adds a unique hospitality option to Budapest’s growing tourism landscape.

The combination of Ruby Hotels’ innovative concept and the addition of Time Out Market Budapest promises to create a dynamic, multi-purpose destination that honors the building’s past while looking firmly towards the future.
