Budapest’s Downtown Beer Festival – Where The Glass Is Never Half Full!
If you’re visiting Budapest in early September, don’t miss one of the city’s most popular annual events – the Belvárosi Sörfesztivál or Downtown Beer Festival. This celebration of beer and street food takes over the picturesque Liverty Square (Szabadság tér) from September 3-8.
Now in its 8th year, the festival promises an unbeatable selection of over 250 different beers from Hungary’s top craft breweries as well as international offerings. Sip cold brews served in frosty mugs as you soak up the lively atmosphere and warm late summer evenings.
More than just beer, the festival also features an excellent variety of street food trucks dishing up delicious local and international cuisine to pair with your drinks. Expect an exciting mix of quality beer, food, and entertainment.
The event is free to enter, but you’ll need to purchase a special festival glass to drink from. Hours are 11:30am to midnight Tuesday-Wednesday, until 2am Thursday-Saturday, and 11:30am-midnight on Sunday.
Whether you’re a beer aficionado or just looking for a fun experience, the Downtown Beer Festival is a great way to immerse yourself in Budapest’s thriving beer culture. Gather your friends and spend a memorable evening in one of the city’s most vibrant public squares. Just be sure to watch out so that your glass is never only half full!
