Where to Sleep at Sziget Festival 2025: Your Complete Accommodation Guide

Sziget Festival on Budapest’s Óbuda Island is one of Europe’s biggest and most beloved music and arts festivals, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors every August. But here’s a tip seasoned festival-goers swear by: stay on the island. Skip the daily commute, skip the security queues, and wake up right in the middle of the action. Whether you’re a budget backpacker, a comfort-seeker, or travelling with your whole family, Sziget has a sleeping option designed just for you.
Why Camp on the Island?
Every minute you spend commuting is a minute you could be discovering something new — a surprise DJ set, a hidden art installation, or a new friend from the other side of the world. Staying on the island means you’re always at the epicentre of the party. And don’t worry about supplies: there’s an Aldi on-site, plenty of affordable food options, and small shops covering pretty much anything you might need. Forgot something at home? Chances are you’ll find it right there.
Camping of Nations — The Peaceful Classic
If you want a calm, community-driven camping experience without the constant foot traffic, the Camping of Nations (Nemzetek Kempingje) is your best bet. Set in the quietest corner of the island and just steps from Sziget Beach (when the Danube’s water level allows), this camping zone offers 24-hour reception, dedicated showers and toilets, free luggage storage, and a relaxed chill-out zone where you can meet fellow festival-goers from around the globe.
You can bring your own tent or rent a pre-pitched one. A pre-pitched tent for 2 people starts at 59,900 HUF (210 × 120 cm), while a spacious 4-person option with two separate sections goes for 79,900 HUF (210 × 140 cm, 195 cm headroom). Important: if you bring your own tent, you must purchase the “Leave No Tent Behind” deposit ticket (12,000 HUF) — a Green Sziget initiative that encourages you to take your tent home. If you do leave it at a designated drop-off point, it gets donated to people in need. Last year, 300 tents found new homes that way.
The camping area is open from August 11 at 8:00 AM to August 16 at noon. Want to arrive early? With an Early Check-In ticket, you can settle in from August 10 at 6:00 PM.
Sziget Ville Premium — Festival Luxury
For those who want to festival hard and recover in style, Sziget Ville Premium is in a league of its own. Tucked away on the eastern side of the island, this exclusive camping zone combines the magic of festival living with genuine wellness amenities — free massages, yoga classes, sauna, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception, private showers and toilets, and a communal chill space that feels more boutique resort than campsite.
The accommodation options here are spectacular. The The Bell premium tent (available for 2, 3, or 4 people) comes fully set up with real beds, full bedding sets, mood lighting, and chairs — pure glamping. The The Boss sleeps up to 6 and comes in two versions: a premium model with proper beds (479,600 HUF) or a standard version with inflatable mattresses (399,600 HUF). For couples looking for something extra special, The Rose (559,600 HUF for 2) is the most luxurious option on the island, complete with a power source and all the comforts you’d expect from a boutique stay. Other options include The Who (219,600 HUF for 2) and The Cohen (151,600 HUF for 2), both pre-pitched and ready to go.
Note that you cannot bring your own tent into Sziget Ville Premium, and all accommodations are available for 5 nights only (6 with an Early Check-In ticket).
Wooden Cabins — Cosy and Compact
If tents aren’t your thing, the wooden twin cabins (Fa Ikerház) offer a charming alternative. Designed for 2 or 4 guests, these snug wooden structures come with bunk beds, premium mattresses, and power outlets. Keep in mind that you’ll share the cabin building with neighbours separated by wooden partition walls — think of it as communal-but-private. Prices start at 223,600 HUF for 2 and 303,600 HUF for 4.
Igloos — Unique and Unforgettable
Want a sleeping experience that’s genuinely unlike anything else? The igloo accommodations are a Sziget fan favourite. The standard igloo for 2 includes beds, full bedding, artificial grass flooring, and power access. Step it up to the Premium Igloo with air conditioning (also for 2) and you’ll also get a fridge — perfect for keeping drinks cold during hot August nights. For groups, the Giant Igloo fits 4 people with bunk beds and full bedding (399,900 HUF). All igloos are located within the Sziget Ville Premium zone.
Caravan Camping — Bring Your Home on Wheels
Prefer to bring your own home to the festival? The Caravan Camping zone welcomes motorhomes and caravans with private parking spots, electrical hookups (bring a 50-metre extension cable!), and dedicated private shower and toilet facilities. Spot sizes range from small (7 × 4.5 m, from 99,900 HUF) to medium (8 × 6 m, from 127,500 HUF) to giant (10 × 7 m, from 167,500 HUF). You’ll need a festival ticket, a camping ticket per person, and a separate area ticket for your vehicle. Note that you only get one entry with your driving permit, so plan accordingly.
Family Camping — Sziget for the Whole Crew
Sziget isn’t just for twenty-somethings. The Family Camping area (located within the Siesta Camping zone) is a dedicated, fenced and shaded space near the main entrance, designed exclusively for families travelling with children under 11 — and the best news is that kids under 11 get in absolutely free. The campsite comes with an on-site playhouse, animation programmes in multiple languages, a quiet “Nap Motel” shaded rest area for daytime naps, a dining area with tables and benches, and access to a fridge, microwave, and drinking water. It’s genuinely family-friendly in a way that most festivals simply aren’t. Early entry is available from August 10 at 4:00 PM with an Early Check-In ticket.
XS Camping — Accessible for Everyone
Sziget goes the extra mile for guests with disabilities. The XS Camping zone, located next to the XS Land accessibility hub in the southern part of the island, is free of charge for both eligible guests and up to two accompanying companions. The camp provides wheelchair loan, personal transport within the festival, accessible toilets and showers, a dining tent, charging stations, a fridge, microwave, and drinking water. To access XS Camping, you’ll need to present documentation confirming eligibility. This applies to wheelchair users, people with limited mobility, visual or hearing impairments, cognitive conditions, or those travelling with assistance animals.
Planning Your Stay — Key Info
No matter which accommodation you choose, your festival ticket is not included in the camping or accommodation pass — these are always purchased separately. You’ll receive a pre-arrival email with all the details you need. If you forget something at home, the on-site shop has you covered. And if you’re serious about getting the best spot, the Early Check-In ticket is well worth it.
Sziget Festival typically takes place in early-to-mid August on Óbuda Island (Hajógyári-sziget) in Budapest. The island is easily accessible by public transport from the city centre, making it one of the most well-connected festival venues in Europe. With accommodation options spanning every budget and travel style, there’s truly no reason not to make the island your home for the week.
