Get Ready for an Enchanting Night of Classical Music in Budapest!
Get ready for an extraordinary evening as Budapest transforms into a classical music paradise on November 9th. The beloved Night of Music event returns for its eighth year, promising to fill the city’s most cherished venues with enchanting melodies and unforgettable performances.
What Makes This Year Special
This year’s edition brings an exciting twist to the traditional format. For the first time, talented students from the European Orchestra Academy (EOA) will join forces with the renowned Budapest Festival Orchestra (BFO) musicians. This collaboration promises to inject fresh energy and diverse musical perspectives into the evening’s performances.
Venues and Atmosphere
The magic will unfold across multiple locations in both Pest and Buda. Popular spots like ISON Cultural Center, Szatyor Bar, and KEG Beerhouse will host these intimate performances. The beauty of the event lies in its accessibility – venues are within walking distance of each other, particularly along Bartók Béla Road in Buda, making it easy to hop between performances throughout the night.
Program Highlights
Starting from 6 PM and running until midnight in some locations, the evening will feature an array of classical pieces performed in unique settings. One particularly exciting performance to look out for is the string quartet at ISON at 9:30 PM, featuring talented EOA students performing works including Giovanni Sollima’s “Viaggio in Italia.”
For beer enthusiasts and music lovers alike, the Tacet Brewery will host an extraordinary performance at 9 PM, where five horn players will present Weber’s famous hunter’s chorus alongside works by Prokofiev and Dvořák.
Practical Information
While all performances are free to attend, early table reservations are strongly recommended as venues tend to fill up quickly. The informal nature of these mini-concerts creates an intimate atmosphere where classical music can be enjoyed in a relaxed, contemporary setting.
International Flavor
Following last year’s success in expanding to include international performers, this year’s event continues to embrace a global perspective. The participation of EOA students from across Europe adds a fresh dimension to the festival, bringing diverse musical backgrounds and interpretations to familiar classics.
Why You Shouldn’t Miss It
This unique event breaks down the traditional barriers between classical music and everyday venues, creating an accessible and enjoyable experience for everyone. Whether you’re a classical music aficionado or just curious about experiencing something new, the Night of Music offers a perfect blend of culture, entertainment, and community spirit.
The event is jointly organized by Budapest Brand and the Budapest Festival Orchestra, ensuring a high-quality musical experience that maintains its community-focused charm.
Remember to mark your calendars for November 9th and book your spots early for what promises to be one of autumn’s most captivating musical events in Budapest!
