Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon

The Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon is an annual running event that takes place in the beautiful city of Budapest, Hungary. This year, the 39th edition of the race will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024.

The main event is the Classic 21.1 km (13.1 miles) half marathon distance. This is a popular race distance that requires moderate training, making it achievable for many runners while still providing a sense of accomplishment at the finish line. The route takes participants through diverse and scenic parts of Budapest.

For those who prefer a team effort, there are relay options available. The Kometa Half Marathon Relay for 2 allows runners to split the 21.1 km distance with a partner, completing 12.7 km and 8.4 km legs respectively. Alternatively, the Half Marathon Relay for 3 divides the distance into 8.3 km, 7 km, and 5.8 km legs for teams of three.

If the half marathon distance seems too daunting, the Szimpatika 10 km (6.2 miles) race offers a shorter option. This flat and fast course still provides runners with the opportunity to experience the vibrant atmosphere of Hungary’s favorite half marathon event.

All races start and finish in the same location, allowing participants to soak in the magnificent panorama of Budapest. Finishers in each distance will receive a well-deserved medal upon completion.
