Celebrate the Rich Diversity of Gypsy Music in Budapest

On August 8th, the vibrant city of Budapest will host the 3rd annual International Day of Gypsy Music. This exciting event, organized by the International Gypsy and World Music Network, aims to celebrate the vibrant diversity of Gypsy music through performances by legendary Gypsy and non-Gypsy artists from around the world.

This year’s festival will feature an incredible lineup of over 260 performers across 15 venues in 6 countries, including 10 cities in Hungary and 5 international locations. Attendees can expect a rich tapestry of sounds, ranging from fiery flamenco to rousing Balkan brass bands, mesmerizing Gypsy melodies to pulsating jazz rhythms.

The main event will take place in the beautiful Benczúr Garden, where from 7 PM, audiences can enjoy free concerts by renowned acts like Misztrál, Parno Graszt, Romengo, Monika Lakatos and the Gipsy Voices, and the Hungarian FolkEmbassy.

Other Hungarian cities hosting performances include Százhalombatta, Szentendre, Veszprém, Ravazd, Hatvan, Balatonboglár, Csobánka, Nagyecsed, and Pécs, making this a truly nationwide celebration.
