A Life-Size LEGO Ferrari F1 Car Lands in Budapest This Summer

If you thought you’d seen every Formula 1 attraction Budapest has to offer ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, think again. From July 10 through August 10, 2026, Budapest is home to something genuinely one-of-a-kind: a life-size LEGO recreation of the Ferrari Formula 1 car driven by Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, built entirely from nearly 400,000 LEGO bricks. It’s on display exclusively at the Alza.hu showroom, and it’s easily one of the more unexpected must-see stops for motorsport fans visiting the city this summer.
A Ferrari You Can Actually Get Close To
This isn’t a scaled-down display model tucked behind glass. The LEGO Ferrari Formula 1 car was constructed at LEGO’s factory in Kladno and fitted with genuine Pirelli racing tires, making it an astonishingly faithful replica of the real machine that carried Hamilton and Leclerc onto the grid at the ceremonial opening of the 2025 Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix.
The numbers behind the build are almost as impressive as the car itself. Roughly 400,000 LEGO bricks went into constructing it, scaling up the LEGO Speed Champions Ferrari SF-24 set by a factor of thirty and faithfully capturing even the most intricate details of the real race car. The finished model weighs close to 1,500 kilograms including its authentic Pirelli tires, with the LEGO components alone accounting for around 1,000 kilograms of that total. And in case you’re wondering, this isn’t just for show either, the model is capable of reaching speeds of up to 20 km/h.
Where and When to See It
You’ll find the exhibit at the Alza.hu showroom on Róbert Károly körút 54-58 in Budapest’s District XIII, open daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM throughout the entire run. It’s easily reachable from central Budapest, making it a natural stop to combine with a day of sightseeing, especially if you’re already in town for Grand Prix season and craving more racing atmosphere between track visits.
Racing Simulators and a Shot at Barcelona
Beyond the LEGO showstopper, the event doubles as a hands-on racing experience thanks to two McLaren gaming seats set up with Logitech G simulators. Visitors can hop on and practice freely throughout the week, racing on the newly updated Hungaroring circuit in the F1 ’26 video game, giving you a genuine taste of what driving the actual track feels like, minus the actual danger.
Weekends bring organized competitions with real stakes. On Saturday, July 11, racing driver Eszter Velezdi will be on-site, and visitors can try to beat her time for a chance to win Logitech G gear like a G240 gaming mousepad or a G102 LIGHTSYNC gaming mouse. On July 18-19, July 25-26, and August 1-2, staff will be recording lap times throughout the weekend, and the fastest overall time wins a spot at the Logitech G Race Days gaming event, with this year’s grand final taking place in Barcelona.
LEGO Shopping and Family-Friendly Extras
Alongside the main attraction, the showroom hosts a dedicated LEGO shop stocked with a wide selection of racing and motorsport sets at discounted prices for the entire duration of the exhibit. Popular picks include the LEGO Speed Champions Ferrari SF-24, Mercedes-AMG F1 W15, and McLaren MCL38 race cars, alongside more elaborate builds like the LEGO Icons Ferrari F2004 with a Michael Schumacher minifigure and the McLaren MP4/4 paired with an Ayrton Senna figure. Prices for the smaller Speed Champions sets start around 7,790 HUF, while the premium Icons and Technic sets run upward of 20,000 HUF.
Every purchase made at the showroom comes with a free mini building set, and the first 100 fastest shoppers each visit get an extra bonus LEGO 30709 set thrown in. There’s also an exclusive LEGO pit lane model built specifically for this event, a build-and-take-home station where visitors can construct their own mini LEGO race car to bring home, and a playful photo corner designed with kids in mind, perfect for capturing a few laughs and lasting memories from the visit.
Why It’s Worth Adding to Your Budapest Itinerary
With the Hungarian Grand Prix drawing motorsport fans from across the globe this season, this LEGO exhibit offers a relaxed, indoor way to soak up more F1 excitement without needing a race ticket at all. It’s especially well suited for families traveling with kids, since it blends genuine engineering spectacle with hands-on activities that keep younger visitors entertained for hours. Whether you’re killing time before qualifying or looking for a rainy-day plan, the Alza showroom’s LEGO Ferrari makes for a memorable, only-in-Budapest experience this summer.
