Experience the Magic of Hungarian Cinema Under the Stars in Budapest
Budapest is offering a unique cinematic experience this summer with its open-air movie screenings. Visitors and locals alike can enjoy a selection of iconic Hungarian films in the beautiful setting of City Hall Park. What makes these screenings even more special is that they come with English subtitles, allowing non-Hungarian speakers to follow along with the story while experiencing the uniqueness of the Hungarian language.
One of the most anticipated films being screened is the new Hungarian hit animation, “Blue Pelikan.” This nostalgic story, set in the 1990s, follows a group of friends who travel to the West using forged train tickets. With plenty of humor and period music, director Csáki László’s feature debut promises to be a delightful watch. The screening of “Blue Pelikan” will take place on August 2nd at 9:00 P.M.
In addition to Hungarian films, the open-air cinema will also feature a variety of English-language favorites. Movie lovers can enjoy screenings of “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Deadpool & Wolverine,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Singin’ in the Rain,” “Back to Black,” “Love Lies Bleeding,” “Pulp Fiction,” “A Star is Born,” and “Bob Marley: One Love” throughout the summer.
These screenings will take place at various locations across Budapest, including the courtyard of Budapest City Hall, Hunyadi Square, and the Széchenyi Thermal Bath. The City Hall screenings will begin at 9:00 P.M., with doors opening at 8:30 P.M.
To make the most of this unique movie-watching experience, visitors are encouraged to check the Budapest Kertmozi website for a complete list of films and more details on ticketing and venues. Don’t miss out on the chance to enjoy cinema under the stars in the heart of Budapest this summer!
