Does Yoda Control Metros in Budapest?
Attention all Star Wars fans and art enthusiasts! There’s a new addition to the vibrant city of Budapest that’s sure to catch your eye. Renowned guerrilla sculptor Mihály Kolodko has struck again, this time placing a delightful little green Yoda figure in one of the city’s metro stations.
Picture this: you’re rushing through the bustling Gellért Square metro underpass, and suddenly, there he is – the wise and powerful Jedi Master Yoda, perched atop a metal railing. It’s a sight that’s sure to make you pause and smile, no matter how busy your day may be.
What’s particularly striking about this mini-statue is the attention to detail. Yoda is depicted in his signature meditative pose, just as we’ve seen him countless times in the Star Wars films. It’s almost as if he’s deep in thought, contemplating the mysteries of the universe right there in the middle of the metro station.
The Budapest Transport Center (BKK) has embraced this new addition to their metro system with open arms. In a playful post on social media, they wrote, “Luke Skywalker had to travel to the Dagobah system to meet him. But you only have to go to Gellért Square: a Yoda mini-statue has appeared at the station of Metro Line 4 here!”
They even added a friendly reminder for those eager to snap a photo with the diminutive Jedi Master: “If you want to take a picture with one of the greatest masters of the Force, please don’t disturb him, as he may be exploring the future.”
So, the next time you find yourself in Budapest, be sure to keep an eye out for this charming little green figure. Who knows, maybe some of Yoda’s wisdom will rub off on you as you go about your day. And remember, as Yoda once said, “Do. Or do not. There is no try.” With that in mind, make it a point to visit this delightful mini-statue, and may the Force be with you!
