Discounted Tickets at Dandár Thermal Bath During Renovation

If you’re planning a soak at one of Budapest’s lesser-known but wonderfully local thermal baths, now’s actually a great time to visit Dandár Thermal Bath, thanks to a temporary discount on its complex tickets. The Ferencváros district bath has kicked off renovation work on its mini sauna world, and while that section is closed for a few weeks, visitors get to enjoy reduced prices on the tickets that include both indoor and outdoor pool access.
What’s Being Renovated
Starting July 13, 2026, Dandár Thermal Bath began renovating the ventilation system in its mini sauna world section. According to the bath’s own announcement, the goal is to fix recurring issues with the ceiling in that area, continuing the broader refurbishment of the building that began with the renovated indoor thermal section, which reopened almost exactly a year ago, on August 1, 2025. The bath hasn’t announced an exact completion date yet, but the work is expected to take a few weeks.
During this period, the mini sauna world will be temporarily closed to visitors. Everything else at the bath, including the indoor thermal pools and the outdoor area, remains fully operational, so you’re really only missing out on one specific sauna section rather than the bath experience as a whole.
Discounted Complex Tickets While Renovation Continues
Here’s the part that’s genuinely good news for visitors: since the mini sauna world is unavailable, Dandár is offering a discount on its complex tickets, which normally include both the paid extra outdoor area and the indoor pools. On weekdays, the complex ticket now costs 4,000 forints instead of the usual 4,500, and on weekends it’s priced at 4,500 forints rather than the standard 5,000. It’s a small but welcome reduction if you were already planning to enjoy both the indoor and outdoor pools during your visit.
Worth noting, the basic indoor-only ticket prices remain unchanged, since that ticket never included mini sauna world access to begin with. A standard indoor pool ticket costs 3,500 forints on weekdays and 4,000 forints on weekends for adults, while students and pensioners can get the same tickets for a more budget-friendly 2,400 and 2,700 forints respectively.
A Shaded Outdoor Pool for Summer Comfort
One nice touch worth mentioning for anyone visiting during the hot summer months: a sun sail has recently been installed over the outdoor pool at Dandár, giving guests a pleasant shaded spot to relax and cool off in the water without the full intensity of the midday sun. It’s a small addition, but a meaningful one if you’re planning a longer stay at the bath during Budapest’s warmer afternoons.
Dandár’s Opening Hours
Dandár Thermal Bath keeps fairly consistent hours throughout the week, opening at 9 AM every day. Most days it closes at 7 PM, but Thursdays are the exception, with the bath staying open until 10 PM, making it a great option for an evening soak if your schedule only frees up later in the day.
Late-Night Bathing Across Budapest
If a Thursday evening doesn’t fit your Budapest itinerary, you’re in luck, because Dandár is just one of several city baths extending their hours late into the evening on different days of the week. Budapest’s bath scene works on a rotating schedule, so there’s actually a different thermal bath open until 10 PM every single night of the week.
Rudas Thermal Bath takes Monday evenings, Lukács Thermal Bath covers Tuesdays, and Csillaghegy Strand handles Wednesdays. Dandár itself takes the Thursday slot, while Széchenyi Thermal Bath, arguably Budapest’s most iconic bathhouse, extends its hours on Fridays. Pesterzsébet Thermal Bath rounds out Saturdays, and Paskál Strand closes out the week with extended Sunday hours.
Whether you’re traveling solo and looking to unwind after a day of sightseeing, or searching for a relaxed evening activity with a partner or friends, a late-night soak in mineral-rich thermal water is hard to beat. The warm water helps melt away the tension of a busy travel day, and there’s something particularly magical about floating under the night sky in one of Budapest’s historic bathhouses. With a different bath offering extended hours every night of the week, you’ve genuinely got no excuse not to fit at least one evening soak into your Budapest itinerary.
