Sziget Festival 2026: The Daily Lineup Is Here and Early Bird Tickets Are on Sale Today

Summer just got very real. Sziget Festival has dropped the daily lineup for its 2026 edition, and it is the kind of announcement that makes you open a browser tab for flights before you have even finished reading. Running from August 11 to 15 on the beautiful Óbuda Island in the heart of Budapest, Sziget — known worldwide as The Island of Freedom — is shaping up to be one of the most exciting editions in years. And if you needed one more reason to stop hesitating: Early Bird tickets are on sale right now, today, March 25, from 10:00 AM CET. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a seasoned Szitizen, here is everything you need to know.
The Island of Freedom Returns
Sziget Festival takes place on Óbuda Island, a leafy 108-hectare island sitting right in the middle of the Danube in northern Budapest. With over a thousand performances spread across five days, it is consistently ranked among the largest and most diverse music and cultural festivals in Europe. What makes it unique is not just the scale — it is the combination of world-class music, art installations, theatre, circus acts, and a genuinely cosmopolitan atmosphere that draws festivalgoers from across the globe. In 2025, festival founder Károly Gerendai announced he had bought the festival back from its English owners, and this year’s edition feels like a bold statement of intent for a new chapter.
The Headliners You Already Know — and Why They Matter
The already-confirmed headliners form one of the strongest top-line bills Sziget has assembled in recent years. Bring Me The Horizon, Florence + The Machine, Lewis Capaldi, SOMBR, Twenty One Pilots, Zara Larsson, and Tash Sultana are all confirmed, and together they cover a remarkable range of sounds — from Florence Welch’s sweeping art-rock to the anthemic alt-metal of Bring Me The Horizon, from Lewis Capaldi’s emotionally devastating ballads to SOMBR’s atmospheric electronic soundscapes. If you have been on the fence about going, this is the lineup that should settle it.
The Daily Lineup: What’s On and When
Now for the detail that makes every Sziget summer feel suddenly, gloriously urgent — the day-by-day breakdown.
Best deals of Budapest
Tuesday, August 11 kicks things off with SOMBR and Zara Larsson topping the bill, joined by Underworld, Vintage Culture, Wolf Alice, Wavy, Perturbator, Lambrini Girls, and Ana Frango Elétrico, among many others. It is a first day that blends electronic heavyweights with some of the most exciting alternative acts in the current scene — the perfect way to ease into five days on the island.
Wednesday, August 12 is a night of contrasts and drama. Twenty One Pilots headline alongside the joyful, timeless Natasha Bedingfield, whose anthem Unwritten has now captured an entirely new generation of fans. Joining them are Biffy Clyro, Tash Sultana, WhoMadeWho, Ashnikko, Faker, HAAi, Bohemian Betyars x Parno Graszt, Kispál és a Borz, and Tankcsapda — the latter bringing the songs from their defining punk-rock album A legjobb méreg for a night that also doubles as a love letter to Hungarian rock history.
Thursday, August 13 may well be the most emotionally charged evening of the festival. Florence + The Machine and Lewis Capaldi share top billing in what promises to be an unforgettable double headline. The electronic and club programme is equally formidable, with Richie Hawtin, Dom Dolla, Dixon, Loyle Carner, Parcels, Black Country New Road, and Paris Paloma all on the bill. If you are only coming for one day, Thursday will be an exceptionally hard one to leave behind.
Friday, August 14 is the night for energy, attitude, and dancefloor history. Bring Me The Horizon headline, while grime icon Skepta — one of the most influential British rappers of his generation and a man widely credited with taking grime global — brings what promises to be a landmark performance. Joining them are Peggy Gou, Sigrid, BUNT., Nia Archives, Altin Gün, Baby Lasagna, AWS, Bëlga, Beton.Hofi, Pogány Induló, and more. Sigrid, whose emotionally rich third studio album came out last October, will finally bring those songs to a live festival audience.
Saturday, August 15 closes the festival in style. Jorja Smith — one of the most gifted voices in contemporary British R&B, known for her smoky, soul-drenched sound — headlines with a special party set making its festival debut this year. She is joined at the top of the bill by Charlotte Cardin and the formidable Belgian electronic institution Soulwax, who perform with three drummers and a bold new production, followed immediately by their celebrated 2manydjs DJ set. Also on Saturday: bbno$, Sub Focus, Dimension, Quimby, Analog Balaton, and MISSIO, among others.
The Hungarian Stage: A Celebration of Local Music
One of the most exciting new developments for 2026 is the Budapest Park Stage by Johnnie Walker, a brand-new dedicated Hungarian stage running for five full days with four to five programme slots daily. It is a deliberate and long-overdue spotlight on the depth of Hungarian musical talent, and the names read like a greatest-hits collection of Hungarian live music across multiple generations.
Alongside the already-mentioned Tankcsapda and Kispál és a Borz, the stage also features Quimby, Bëlga, Majka, Beton.Hofi, Co Lee, Ivan & the Parazol, Platon Karataev, Blahalouisiana, AWS, ByeAlex és a Slepp, Péterfy Bori & Love Band, Irie Maffia, Esti Kornél, Analog Balaton, Mirror Glimpse, Lazarvs, Kolibri, and many more. The stage closes with a very special concert by Müller Péter Sziámi, co-founder of the festival, celebrating his 75th birthday — making the final night not just a farewell to Sziget 2026, but a deeply personal milestone.
Get Your Tickets — Today
Early Bird day tickets are on sale from today, March 25, at 10:00 AM CET, and they are available to everyone. This is the most affordable public ticket tier before prices step up later in the spring, so if you have been waiting for the right moment, this is it. Day tickets start from €99, while full five-day festival passes start from €249 at Early Bird price. As with every year, these tiers sell out well before August — particularly after a lineup announcement this strong.
If you want to go all out, VIP passes are also available now and offer elevated viewing areas, dedicated entrances, premium lounges, and a noticeably more comfortable festival experience without losing any of the magic. As the official reminder puts it: prepare for unforgettable moments, because August and Sziget will be here in the blink of an eye.
Download the Sziget App Before You Do Anything Else
Seriously — before you even book your flights, download the Sziget app. Lineup drops, programme surprises, and ticket alerts all land there first, and being in the loop makes an enormous practical difference when you are trying to plan your days on the island. You can find it at szigetfestival.com/en/mobileapp. Don’t be the friend who hears about it last.
Getting to the Island
Reaching Sziget from central Budapest is part of the fun. The festival takes place on Óbuda Island, and the easiest route from most central locations is the HÉV suburban railway line H5 to Filatorigát, where festival staff will direct you from there. From Keleti Railway Station, take Metro line 2 and change at Batthyány Square to the HÉV — the whole journey takes around 45 minutes. From Nyugati Railway Station, tram 4 or 6 to Margit Bridge, then the HÉV, takes about 35 minutes. All tickets can be purchased and validated through the Budapest GO app.
Budapest itself is one of the great festival cities of Europe — affordable, beautiful, and full of life. The thermal baths are the perfect recovery option between festival days, the food scene is excellent, and the city’s nightlife means the fun doesn’t stop when the island closes for the night. Book accommodation early, as Budapest fills up fast during Sziget week and the best spots near the metro and HÉV lines go quickly. August in Budapest is typically warm and sunny, so pack for summer and expect long, golden evenings on the island.
