Korean Influencer Devours Budapest
Tzuyang, a popular Korean mukbang influencer with 11.5 million followers, has been making waves in Budapest with her extraordinary eating exploits. The petite content creator, known for consuming massive portions, has released her fourth video showcasing her gastronomic journey through Hungary’s capital.
A Tour of Budapest’s Culinary Landscape
Tzuyang’s Hungarian adventure has taken her to several iconic eateries:
- Pléh Csárda: She kicked off her tour by devouring 2 kg of schnitzel and two large bowls of tripe stew.
- A steak restaurant: Here, she tackled an impressive 3 kg steak.
- The Nyugati McDonald’s: Considered one of the world’s most beautiful McDonald’s, this recently renovated location saw Tzuyang indulge in a substantial meal.
- Sir Lancelot: A medieval-themed restaurant known for its enormous portions.
The Sir Lancelot Experience
At Sir Lancelot, Tzuyang ordered a one-meter-long meat platter intended for six people. The platter featured duck, chicken, pork, and beef, accompanied by various sauces and a large mug of cola. Before ordering, she explored the restaurant and its surroundings, remarking on the impressive interior design in Europe.
Despite her reputation for finishing massive meals, Tzuyang couldn’t complete the entire platter this time. She explained in the video that guests were expected at her table in 20 minutes. As compensation for not finishing the meal, she was included in the restaurant’s knightly performance.
The Phenomenon of Mukbang
Mukbang, a combination of Korean words for “eating” and “broadcast,” has gained significant popularity over the past decade. Viewers are drawn to these videos for various reasons, including:
- Visual appeal of appetizing foods
- Entertainment value as hosts share stories or jokes while eating
- Vicarious eating experiences for those unable to afford certain foods
- Companionship for those eating alone
The Mystery of Tzuyang’s Physique
Despite her enormous meals, Tzuyang maintains a slim figure, reportedly weighing only 44 kg. This paradox is explained by the rapid digestion process employed by mukbang creators. Dr. Seo Jae Gul, a South Korean physician, likens the process to pouring water into a broken bottle – the food passes through quickly without being fully absorbed.
However, this eating style can be detrimental to health, potentially leading to digestive issues, insulin resistance, and cardiovascular problems. Tzuyang herself has mentioned experiencing intestinal difficulties.
As Tzuyang continues her culinary tour of Budapest, her videos offer a unique perspective on the city’s diverse food scene, albeit through an extreme lens.
