29th Danube Carnival
International Cultural Festival
This year, the Danube Carnival returns to Budapest, celebrating over a quarter century of bringing vibrant folk dance and music from around the globe to the city. The festival will feature both national and international ensembles and musicians, including youth and children groups who represent a mix of professional, traditional, and amateur folk dance movements.
The highlight of the event is the Gala at the Margaret Island Open Air Stage, showcasing guest performers in the World Carnival. Additionally, Hungarian ensembles will join forces with the Duna Art Ensemble and the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble for a special dance production titled “Ode to Joy” to mark the European Union presidency. This event invites you to experience a rich tapestry of tradition and innovation in dance and music.
