Say goodbye to the Viadukt Festival, but not to the fun on the Pest embankment!

Goodbye to the Viadukt Festival Budapest

For about three weeks, the lower embankment in Pest was only accessible by foot, bicycle, scooter, roller skates, or skateboard. Although the Viadukt Festival has come to an end, this popular recreational spot will continue to offer programs for Budapest residents on September weekends.

On the last day of August, the lower embankment in Pest, between the Margaret Bridge and the Irányi Street exit near the Elizabeth Bridge, was once again reserved for pedestrians.

In addition to the quiet, car-free environment and Budapest’s world-famous panorama, visitors could also enjoy a fantastic range of programs offered by Valyo, the city, and the river. There were yoga classes, acoustic concerts, board games, and many other entertaining events for young and old alike.

Even though summer is “officially” over, the weekends on the embankment are not. The upcoming programs are already available on Valyo’s website.

On Saturday, September 7th, there will be a “The City is Here, We are its Residents – Pathfinder Board Game” event with BMSZKI from 4 pm to 8 pm. Also, from 4 pm, there will be a Women on Bikes workshop and adventure until 7 pm. Between 5 pm and 8 pm, you can enjoy half an hour of time, space, and attention that’s all about you – an instant coaching taster session where you can open the complaint box. In the community Viadukt, the FEMINICITY GAME: Kiss, write when you get home! starts at 6 pm and lasts for about an hour. Between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm, there will be an Urban Asanas – Event-closing Om mantra chanting at the Fortepan Wall. From 5 pm to 10 pm, there will be a Fear and Loathing party, where aspiring rappers will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of an audience.

On Sunday, September 8th, from 4 pm to 6:30 pm, there will be a Postcard from Summer event where you can create a collage on the embankment to preserve your memories of this summer in the form of a postcard. Also, from 4 pm to 10 pm, there will be a Placcc-Sensing the City-Freund Éva: Layers of Water installation, workshop, discussion, and screening. Between 7 pm and 9 pm, there will be a Text Dock Reading Evening, where writers, poets, and translators will introduce themselves.

If you would like to organize a program on the embankment on later weekends, submit your idea by clicking here.

So, while the Viadukt Festival may be over, the fun on the Pest embankment continues!
