Budapest's Public Transport Brings the Football Euro Cup Atmosphere to the City

Are you a football fan visiting Budapest during the Euro Cup? The Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) has got you covered! As the excitement for the tournament grows, BKK is bringing the Euro Cup atmosphere to the streets of Budapest, allowing fans to cheer for the Hungarian national team while waiting at bus stops or traveling around the city.

During the matches of the Hungarian team, the FUTÁR displays at public transport stops will provide live updates on the scores, ensuring that even those on the move can stay connected to the action. The displays will feature the message “Hajrá, magyarok!” (Go, Hungarians!), rallying support for the national team.

Hungary will face Switzerland on June 15th (Saturday) at 3 PM, Germany on June 19th (Wednesday) at 6 PM, and Scotland on June 23rd (Sunday) at 9 PM in Group A. To join the football festivities, BKK recommends using public transport or the MOL Bubi bike-sharing system to reach the fan zones and viewing events across the city.

The MOL Bubi system has also joined the football frenzy, with 300 bicycles featuring unique fan stickers. Bike stations near the fan zones, such as Deák Square, Szabadság Square, Vécsey Street, and Kopaszi Dam, have been given a special Euro Cup makeover. Remember to always lock your bike at the designated stations.

To plan your journey, use the BudapestGO app, which provides real-time information on public transport routes and allows you to purchase tickets and passes directly through the application.

Don’t miss out on the chance to immerse yourself in the Euro Cup excitement while exploring the beautiful city of Budapest. Let BKK’s football-themed public transport system guide you through this unforgettable experience. Go, Hungary!
