UPDATE! Budapest’s Budai Sörfesztivál: A Craft Beer Lover’s Dream

Budapest's Budai Sörfesztivál: A Craft Beer Lover's Dream

If you’re a beer enthusiast visiting Budapest this summer, you won’t want to miss the Budai Sörfesztivál from July 3-7. This five-day beer festival, located at the foot of the Petőfi Bridge in Buda, will feature over 100 different Hungarian, Czech, German, and Belgian craft and microbrewery beers.

In addition to an incredible selection of brews to sample, the festival will also offer a wide variety of gastronomy options from both larger vendors and street food stalls, ensuring you don’t go hungry while enjoying the beer. Football fans can even catch Euro 2024 matches on large screens in a covered area.

The festival isn’t just about drinking though. Live blues music will keep the atmosphere lively in the evenings. Families are welcome too, with a small amusement park, merry-go-round, pony rides, a playground, and face painting for the kids. And of course, no Hungarian festival would be complete without traditional treats like kürtőskalács (chimney cakes), gofri (waffles), and palacsinta (crepes).

Whether you’re a craft beer aficionado or just looking for a fun festival experience, the Budai Sörfesztivál promises to be a great way to spend a summer evening in Budapest. Just be sure to pace yourself with over 100 beers to try!

UPDATE!

The event was canceled due to technical issues, but to make sure that you are not left without cold beer and entertainment, take a short walk down the Danube river to Dürer Kert. You will be able to pick your favorite from a great selection and enjoy the Euro 2024 matches under the shades of the giant trees by the river. If you are more into cocktails and Miami vibes, you will be in for a treat during the breaks between matches as Quixotic, an upcoming Hungarian DJ will bring you awesome retrowave music.
