PlayDome: Budapest’s New Indoor Playground for Families

PlayDome at the Biodome – Jump, Slide, and Play in Budapest

A Fun Winter Escape in the Heart of the City

If you’re visiting Budapest with kids this winter and wondering where to let them run, jump, and play when the weather turns chilly, there’s a brand-new indoor playground that’s just right for a family day out. From 27 December 2025, the PlayDome opens its doors at the Biodome in Budapest Zoo, turning the heart of City Park into a lively indoor playground where children of all ages can bounce, slide, climb, and explore in a safe, warm, and fully enclosed space.

What Is PlayDome?

PlayDome is not just a bouncy castle — it’s a full-scale inflatable adventure zone with giant jumping arenas, obstacle courses, big slides, tunnels, and interactive play elements that keep kids moving and smiling for hours. There’s also a LEGO building corner and a selection of board games, so even when they need a short break from jumping, there’s still plenty to keep their minds and hands busy. Parents and older siblings can join in too, making it a shared, active experience for the whole family.

Why It’s Perfect for Winter in Budapest

What makes PlayDome especially great for families in Budapest is how perfectly it fits into a winter city break. Budapest in December and January can be cold and sometimes rainy, and while the city is full of wonderful museums, thermal baths, and historic sights, little legs and big imaginations still need space to move. PlayDome offers exactly that: a fun, energetic outlet where kids can burn off energy without having to brave the cold for long. It’s a cheerful, colorful escape from the winter weather, and a chance for families to enjoy some carefree, playful time together.

Fun for Kids of All Ages

The playground is designed to be inclusive and enjoyable for all ages. It’s recommended for children aged 5 and up, but younger kids can join under close adult supervision, and there’s enough variety in the activities to keep toddlers, school-age children, and even older kids entertained. With separate morning and afternoon time slots, families can easily fit a visit into their sightseeing schedule, whether it’s a post-breakfast jump session or a lively way to end the day before heading back to the hotel.
