Food Truck Show Budapest 2026: Hungary’s Biggest Street Food Festival Is Back

Food Truck Show

The Food Truck Show is returning to Budapest for its 12th edition, and if you’ve never been, this is the year to go. Taking over Kincsem Park on May 8–10, 2026, this is Hungary’s premier street food event — three days of incredible food, live music, horse racing, and genuine good vibes, all completely free to enter. With around 25,000 visitors expected across the weekend and 40 of Hungary’s best food trucks lined up, the atmosphere is festival-level from the moment you walk through the gates. Last year’s national tour drew over 600,000 visitors in total, which tells you everything you need to know about just how popular this event has become.

A Global Food Tour in One Weekend

The truck lineup this year is the most diverse the festival has ever seen, covering everything from Hungarian classics to international street food from across the globe. Slow-smoked BBQ fans will want to head straight to Black Heaven BBQ and Smokey Monkies BBQ, while one of this year’s headline debuts is the “false burger” — a reinvention of the classic where the beef patty is replaced entirely with tender, slow-cooked BBQ meats. If bold flavors are your thing, there are also spicy chili-jalapeño sandwiches and sweet-and-savory combos worth seeking out.

If you’re in the mood for something international, the options are seriously impressive. Tom Yum brings authentic Thai wok cooking with dishes prepared live in front of you, Mexkitchen and Tico-Taco serve up tacos and burritos packed with flavor, and Ramenka has Japanese ramen covered. Round out your world tour with Neapolitan-style pizza from Pizza ‘O Sole Mio, French raclette by Raclette by Lili, and Greek specialties — all within a short walk of each other.

Vegetarians and gluten-free eaters are equally well catered for this year. Creative plant-based dishes and meat-free Asian noodle plates make sure nobody goes hungry, and Szürkeharcsa Halbár is a dedicated fish bar where the entire menu — including a standout catfish fish & chips — is prepared gluten-free from start to finish.

Sweet Endings and Great Drinks

When it’s time for dessert, Happy Churros has crispy Spanish churros fresh from the fryer, Levendula Fagylaltozó serves artisan ice cream, and you’ll also find golden pancakes, fresh crêpes from Happy Crépes, waffles, and the intriguing Waffle Dog for something a little different. On the drinks side, quality wine bars Borkas and Laposa are on hand for those who prefer something from a glass, alongside craft beer from Sörbie and BeerKák, a Mionetto Prosecco Bar, a dedicated Spritz Bar, and even a matcha station for a more refreshing option between courses.

More Than Just Food

The unique setting of Kincsem Park — Budapest’s historic horse racing venue — gives the Food Truck Show an atmosphere you simply can’t replicate anywhere else. In between bites, you can watch live horse races unfold on the track just meters away from the food trucks, and live music performances run throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday, keeping the energy high from opening to close.

This year’s event also has a special guest: popular Hungarian rapper Lil Frakk joins the Budapest weekend as the official face of the 2026 national tour. His presence adds a fun pop culture dimension to what is already a lively and sociable occasion. On Sunday evening, the festival wraps up with its much-anticipated awards ceremony, where the best trucks of the season receive audience, industry, and influencer prizes judged on food quality and truck presentation alike. It’s always a spirited and celebratory way to close out the weekend.

Good to Know Before You Go

The Food Truck Show takes sustainability seriously — the entire event is plastic-free, so you won’t find single-use plastics anywhere on site. Every truck also offers at least one dish priced under 3,000 HUF, making it easy to enjoy the full experience without spending a fortune. Whether you come for a single afternoon or stay until closing time all three days, you’ll find it easy to pace yourself and keep the budget in check.

The event is fully family-friendly and pet-friendly, so feel free to bring the kids and the dog along. The open-air setting of Kincsem Park means there’s plenty of space to spread out, find a spot in the sun, and enjoy the kind of relaxed, communal atmosphere that makes street food festivals so enjoyable in the first place.

Plan Your Visit

Kincsem Park is located at Albertirsai út 2-4 in the 10th district of Budapest, and is easily reachable by public transport — the closest metro stop is Pillangó utca on the M2 (red) line, with a short walk from there to the venue. Entry is completely free all three days. The gates open on Friday at 4:00 PM and close at 10:00 PM, while Saturday and Sunday both run from 11:00 AM, with Saturday closing at 10:00 PM and Sunday wrapping up at 8:00 PM.

Whether you’re a dedicated foodie, a curious traveler looking for an authentic Budapest experience, or simply someone who wants to spend a sunny May weekend outdoors with great food and good music, the Food Truck Show delivers on every count. It’s one of those events that manages to feel both local and international at the same time — a genuine celebration of food, community, and the simple pleasure of eating something delicious under the open sky.
