Budapest Park’s Summer Season Ends, Get Ready For the Winterfest!
Attention all Budapest Park fans! The beloved outdoor venue is officially closing its gates for the summer season this weekend, but not without a bang. The final weekend of the park’s 13th season will feature a farewell concert by Quimby on Friday, September 27th, followed by the always-lively Necc Party. On Saturday, September 28th, Punnany Massif will take the stage, performing their latest album “Fel nem” alongside their greatest hits. After the concert, the grand season-closing afterparty will kick off across four dance floors.
But don’t despair, because the Budapest Park team has been cooking up something special for the winter months. Introducing the first-ever Budapest Park WINTERFEST, a two-day event taking place on December 20th and 21st at the MVM Dome. This exciting new addition to the park’s lineup will feature a diverse range of musical acts that are sure to attract thousands of fans, just like the summer concerts do.
“Budapest Park has always been about combining the intimacy of club concerts with the diversity of festivals and the grandeur of arena shows,” says András Pálffy, the park’s founder and CEO. “So it made perfect sense to take this concept to a new venue and context during the winter months.”
The WINTERFEST will showcase eight separate productions across two days, with four major concerts each day. Expect the same vibrant “park atmosphere” you know and love, complete with afterparties, pop-up activities, and the park’s signature spectacular stage design.
Looking back on the summer season, Budapest Park’s 13th year was one for the books. Across 85 concert days, the venue hosted 187 bands, 223 afterparties, 160 DJ sets, and 20 sold-out shows, drawing in a whopping 625,000 visitors. It’s no wonder that the world-renowned Time Out magazine recently named Budapest one of the best cities for nightlife, with a special shoutout to Budapest Park.
So mark your calendars for December 20th and 21st, because the Budapest Park WINTERFEST is shaping up to be the hottest event of the winter season. The first performers will be announced on September 29th at 8 pm, right after the summer season wraps up. Get ready to dance the winter blues away at the MVM Dome!
