Each table represents a different culture, offering you the chance to explore customs, crafts, and culinary traditions in one afternoon.
Symphony of Cultures
As the sun sets, the celebration continues with live stage performances showcasing the artistic heritage of ELTE’s diverse student body. Watch traditional dances, listen to music from different continents, and experience theatrical performances that reflect the rich cultural backgrounds represented at the university. These aren’t professional productions—they’re heartfelt presentations by students sharing their cultural identity with the Budapest community.

Online Open Day for Prospective Students
Earlier the same day at 9:00 CET, ELTE Faculty of Humanities hosts an online Open Day via Microsoft Teams for anyone interested in studying in Budapest. This virtual event provides comprehensive information about the faculty’s 30+ programmes, ranging from preparatory courses to doctoral degrees.
The Open Day includes presentations about international programmes, detailed guidance on the admission procedure and finances, insights into student life at ELTE, and live Q&A sessions with current students and faculty staff. Registration is required to receive the meeting link, and the sessions will not be recorded.
This presents a unique opportunity for prospective students to learn about studying at Hungary’s premier university while experiencing the vibrant international community through the Culture Fest later that evening.
Who Organizes This Event
The Culture Fest is a collaborative effort between the Faculty of Humanities International Relations Office, the Students’ Union, the International Student Advisory Committee, and the Erasmus Student Network at ELTE. This partnership ensures authentic representation and genuine cultural exchange throughout the event.
Participate as an Exhibitor
If you’d like to showcase your own cultural heritage through food, traditional objects, or art, you can register to host a table exhibition. The deadline for exhibitor registration is October 28, 2025. This opportunity allows you to actively contribute to Budapest’s international community while sharing what makes your culture unique.
What to Bring
The event encourages environmental consciousness—bring your own reusable cup and plate to reduce waste. Feel free to wear traditional attire from your home country or bring your national flag to add to the festive atmosphere. Most importantly, bring an open mind and curiosity about the cultures you’ll encounter.
Why Attend
This event offers tourists a rare glimpse into Budapest’s thriving international academic community. Unlike typical tourist attractions, the Culture Fest provides authentic cultural exchanges in an informal, welcoming setting. Whether you’re interested in global cuisines, traditional performances, or simply meeting people from around the world, this celebration delivers an experience you won’t find in guidebooks.
The timing—transitioning from afternoon exhibitions to evening entertainment—allows you to customize your experience based on your interests and schedule. Stay for the full event or drop by during either portion.
