Bavarian Beers and Plenty to Eat
The beer selection brings some of Bavaria’s best-known brewery names to Budapest, including Erdinger, Augustiner, Paulaner and Spaten. You can also try Tsingtao from China and Golser, an Austrian organic beer from a family brewery near Lake Neusiedl. Contemporary craft beers add variety, while a selection of 0% alcohol-free beers means you don’t have to drink alcohol to enjoy the occasion.
The food follows the same generous festival spirit. Nuremberg sausages with Bavarian-style cabbage, Leberkäse and Bavarian pretzels share the spotlight with burgers and Hungarian favourites. Try lángos, a deep-fried flatbread, or satisfy your sweet tooth with chimney cake, doughnuts or roasted chestnuts. A dedicated gluten-free food area is also planned.
From Opening-Night Concerts to Bavarian Bands
The festival starts on Friday, October 16 with Kovács Áron & Fedor Kyra’s Still Crazy performance from 6pm to 7:30pm. Hauber X Bonanza follows until 9pm, before DJ Kiki takes over for a midnight finish.
Best deals of Budapest
Saturday’s programme brings Bavarian music from SWAB between 5pm and 8:30pm. DJ Jován then plays until 10pm, followed by DJ titzkrisztián until midnight. On Sunday, Takser Spatzen performs from 5pm to 8pm, with DJ Juhász Laci rounding off the weekend from 8pm to 10pm.
You don’t need to know the Hungarian performers to enjoy the atmosphere: the mix of live music, Bavarian melodies and DJ sets gives visitors plenty of ways to join the party.
A Daytime Visit with the Family
Saturday and Sunday both open at 10am, giving families time to enjoy the festival before the evening entertainment begins. Children’s activities and fairground attractions are planned, including a Ferris wheel, bumper cars and other rides.
Free admission applies to entry to the festival; don’t assume that food, drinks or rides are included. Bring a bank card for purchases, and an extra layer for time spent outdoors. A heated tent will offer a place to gather if the weather turns chilly.
For the journey home, the organisers have announced an on-site taxi rank operated by the festival’s official taxi partner, Főtaxi. The programme may change, so check the latest organiser announcements before travelling for a particular performance.
